Can Everybody Be Hypnotised?
Some people will occasionally say that ‘they can’t be hypnotised’. Usually, what they are saying is that they don’t want to be hypnotised.
To be hypnotised, you must be willing to be hypnotised and able to concentrate on what the hypnotherapist is saying. Most people can manage that and so on the whole, yes, everybody can be hypnotised to one extent or another.
However, there are a few people for whom it might be difficult. For example, those who have taken a lot of drugs or those who are on the autistic scale.
For everyone else, practice makes perfect. Hypnosis is a perfectly natural state of mind, a state that you enter almost every day and hence there is nothing wrong in that. It may seem strange to be entering hypnosis consciously, but it is something that we can all learn and benefit from.
